AI automations for the translation industry

The translation industry runs on small, repetitive workflow problems: file routing, format conversion, segment alignment, terminology checking, glossary updates, status reporting. We build automations for our own operation and adapt them for clients on demand. Where an LLM is the right tool, we use one; where a deterministic script is, we write one. The work is small, fast, and almost always pays for itself within months.
Our flagship is R.I.M.A. (Reason-Informed Machine-Assisted translation), the proprietary translation-management system we have built for our own delivery, end-to-end. Designed for Expert-at-the-Core workflows: accountability flows are first-class, audit trails are structured, and terminology governance sits at the centre rather than the edge.
AI governance in translation

A documented framework covering where you deploy machine translation, where LLM-assisted revision is acceptable, where post-editing levels sit, where human-only workflows are required, and what audit trail is preserved.
Two uses. Internally, as the basis on which our delivery is run. Externally, as the basis of a LangOps governance review for a client’s own operation. The deliverable is a written framework you own and can show to a regulator.

Prompt engineering
For teams that need the same terminology in every language, on every job.
Terminology adherence in LLM-assisted revision. Register control across language pairs. AI-assisted translation grounded in your own termbases and translation memories. The interesting work is rarely the prompt itself; it’s the data the prompt sits on top of, and the evaluation framework that tells you when it is working.
Pharos AI Factory
RIMA has been awarded sandbox access as an SME within the Pharos Hub, the EU-supported sandbox for advanced AI compute. When the access is taken up it will carry evaluation and development of AI-assisted translation systems on infrastructure that meets European data-governance standards from the start, rather than being retrofitted to them later.
Language_Tech Patras
The annual meeting we organise in Patras for people doing serious work in language technology (industry, academia, public sector) in one room, once a year. Set up in 2023 because a forum of this kind did not exist in Greece before. Hosted by RIMA ΑΜΚΕ (our non-profit arm), in collaboration with our language services studio, Rhyme&Reason. Past editions: 2023, 2024, 2025.
EU-co-funded R&D
Three active projects under Greek national and regional innovation programmes (ΕΣΠΑ / RIS3), co-funded by the European Union. Project names withheld while under construction; partners named on request under NDA.
- An AI-assisted offline CAT tool for neural machine-translation post-editing.
- A cultural-participation platform combining artificial intelligence, big-data analytics and gamification for the cultural sector, aligned with the European Green Deal and New European Bauhaus principles.
- A specialised Greek↔English translation platform for agri-food heritage, built on the LangOps approach.
