Accessibility Statement

RIMA Language_Tech_Culture: accessibility statement for www.rimahub.gr. Last updated: 9 September 2026.

Our commitment

We want www.rimahub.gr to be usable by everyone, regardless of how they navigate the web. We design and maintain the site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard, and we test it periodically against that benchmark.

We are also aware that accessibility is a moving target: assistive technology, browsers, and user expectations evolve. We treat the standard as a floor, not a ceiling.

Conformance status

This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. The known gaps and our schedule for resolving them are listed below.

What we have done

  • Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements (menu, form fields, buttons, links) are reachable and operable using the keyboard alone.
  • Skip to main content. A skip link at the start of every page lets keyboard users jump past the navigation directly to the main content.
  • Semantic structure. Each page carries a single first-level heading, followed by consistent section headings. ARIA landmarks are used to support screen-reader navigation.
  • Form labels. Every form input has a properly associated label element.
  • Colour contrast. Text and background pairings are audited against WCAG 2.1 AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text). The audit of 9 September 2026 cleared the page structure, the navigation and the footer. The brand-palette pairings that still fall short are named under Known limitations.
  • Alternative text. All meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative images carry empty alt attributes so they are skipped by screen readers.
  • Language declarations. Each page declares its primary language in the page markup.
  • Responsive design. The layout adapts to screen widths from 320px to ultra-wide displays without horizontal scrolling and without loss of content.

Known limitations

The following are known to fall short of WCAG 2.1 AA. Each item is scheduled for resolution:

  • Colour contrast in the brand palette. An automated audit on 9 September 2026 found 25 text and background pairings below the WCAG 2.1 AA ratio. These are palette pairings rather than page faults: the light amber used for some links on white, the orange used for the main navigation on white, and several light tints set on the orange ground. Targeted resolution: at the next palette review.
  • Inline language marking. Greek names, terms and citations inside the English pages are not individually marked with a lang attribute, so a screen reader announces them with an English voice. Targeted resolution: with the Greek release.
  • Heading levels. Pages step from the first-level heading to third-level section headings with no intervening second level. Navigation by heading works, but the sequence is not strictly ordered. Targeted resolution: at the next content pass.
  • The Greek-language version follows the English launch as a second pass; until it ships, Greek-speaking visitors relying on assistive technology have only the English version. Targeted resolution: on completion of Greek review.
  • Assistive-technology testing. Conformance is currently verified by automated tooling. Testing with screen readers in real use is scheduled and not yet complete. Targeted resolution: at the next review.

If you encounter any other issue, we want to hear about it.

Compatibility

This site is built to current web standards and is expected to work with:

  • Browsers: the two most recent major versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
  • Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA (Windows), TalkBack (Android).
  • Operating systems: macOS 14+, Windows 11, iOS 17+, Android 14+.

Older browsers and assistive technologies may experience reduced functionality. Conformance is verified by automated auditing against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA; testing with screen readers in real use is scheduled and is recorded under Known limitations until it is done.
